It does what it is suppose to
This is a great product. It does increase sounds and decrease background noise. However, if you suffer from inner nerve loss (damaged hair cells) this may not help you to understand speech. It is not a hearing aid and depending on your impairment in may not improve quality of hearing. I recommend getting a auditory exam before buying.
Like many other reviews - wouldn't charge
Have ordered many items fm./via Amazon. This came w. free shipping so thought I'd give it a try. Cheap enuf, so not much to lose.
It wouldn't charge! A green light is supposed to come on when it charges. Never did, but left it in over nite anyway. I didn't realize it never took the charge until I tried using it. It quit after 20-30 minutes. Many of these gadgets do have a residual charge in it. During that limited time, it did seem to work well for me altho I was having trouble getting the fit right.
I use Bluetooth headset for hours each day so I expected the fit to be as easy. 30 minutes isn't really enuf time to try a product.
First time I ever had to return anything bot on Amazon. Just printed out a return (UPS) label. Seller pays for shipping and it says I'll get a refund rather than a new product. (I would have tried it again, if I had a choice.)
DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURE
I ordered both IntelliEar products, the regular and this rechargeable model.
The rechargeable model never charged---after a full day of "charging," no lights came on, no functions were operable. Something was clearly defective.
The regular one, powered by small batteries, worked for a while, but then could not be turned off! Of course, it ran the battery out and we gave up on the
product.
Both these products seemed very poorly put together, with cheap plastic parts.
Blessedly, Amazon took them back with no shipping cost and will refund the price. But you might wish to save the trouble.
For somewhat more, we ended up ordering (and liking) the Sonic Ear. Perhaps not perfect, but works well, seems solid and reasonably reliable.

I had high hopes for this product, but when it came it would not work at all and I sent it back.
too much noise
I'm living in a granny flat and so do not want my TV noise to disturb the rest of the household--this is not the answer as, despite trying all the ear pieces, both ears and just generally fiddeling around, there is too much other noise. All sounds are amplified-swallowing, breathing, slight changes in position, and knitting needle clicks. I dropped it in the trash after about 2 hrs.
