Jobst Stocking Donner
The stocking donner is a help but not a cure all for the effort to put on compression stockings. Most of the aides my wife has do not use it. My wife uses the the lowest value compression stockings so they are relatively easy to nput on. The Stocking Donner may but more helpful for putting on higher value compression stockings.
Must-have for compression stockings!
I had to wear compression stockings for six weeks after hip replacement surgery. The sock helper that came with my fairly worthless "hip kit" wasn't sturdy enough to help with putting on the compression stockings. At first, every morning I particularly struggled to get the stocking on my operated leg because my range of motion was limited, and putting on my stockings turned into a frustrating 15 minute chore. Then I discovered the stocking donner and voila! With this gadget, putting on compression stockings was a breeze. Don't let the price scare you off - it's a very sturdy, well-made product and definitely turns an otherwise frustrating task into something quick and easy. I highly recommend this product if you struggle with compression stockings as I did.
hard to use, close to zero refund on returns to Pro Therapy
Unless you have tried this in person and are sure it will work for you, don't order from Pro Therapy Supplies. Although they provide free shipping, on returns they subtract the original shipping cost (about $10) plus a restocking fee of 10%. On top of that, the buyer has to pay for the return shipping (another $10), basically leaving $5 left on a $28 purchase.
I tried it, my mother-in-law tried it, and her caregiver tried, and agreed that it was just as hard or harder to use it than to put on the stockings by hand.
The Jobst Stocking Donner is so easy to use.
For the last few years, I have been wearing shoes without socks because I have one leg that has arthritis in it,and I have not seen a easy way to put my socks on until I came across this item. I am amazed that it works so easy. I do not wear medical stockings, I just have it for my every day socks. The sock just slides over the middle metal form and I just slide my foot into the sock and that is all it takes.
Stocking puller
We got this quite a while back for my mom and she uses it every day. She has arthritis and this is the only way for her to pull up her support socks. It is very easy to use and very durable. This product made life more independent for an 84 yr old. I would recommend it to anyone.
